Marcela Rondani is a trilingual Doctor in Clinical Psychology and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University of Santa Barbara, and a Bachelor of Sciences in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.
Marcela owns and directs Orenda Clinical Services that provides in-home psychological support for parents, teens and young adults, as well as Clinical education to schools, universities and treatment centers. She also has been in private practice in Culver City since 2012.
Marcela also is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and serves as the Director of Eating Disorder Services at Visions AdoIescent Treatment Center. She specializes in working with eating disorders, mental health, trauma, and family dynamic issues.
With more than thirteen years of experience in the intensive mental health field, Marcela has been working with adolescents and families in treatment centers setting as a clinical director, and clinical supervisor in a variety of settings: community mental health, inpatient facility, rape crisis center, eating disorder treatment center, residential mental health facility, and private practice.
She has specialization and training in treating severely mentally ill population, parenting difficulties, general relationship struggles, survivors of sexual abuse, borderline personality disorder, mood disorder, eating disorder clients; as well as vast experience in working with family systems issues. Based on her background Marcela takes into consideration the multicultural aspect of each client and their families, with curiosity, respect, and integrity.
Marcela has extensive training in Psychodynamic, Family Systemic Theory and also in Post Induction Therapy and trained in this model by its founder Pia Mellody. She has been trained in DBT skills by the Linehan Institute. She has had the pleasure of working with the Brazilian Embassy in Los Angeles for nearly two years, running groups, presentations and helping clients with mental health issues. She has been a Board of Directors member for IAEDP (International Association for Eating Disorders Professionals) since 2014 and a CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists) member since 2012.
